Mohammed EL Houadfi was graduated in Veterinary Medicine in 1977 at the Agronomy and Veterinary Institute Hassan II, Rabat, Morocco. Immediately, he started his career as assistant professor in poultry disease at this Institute with the beginning of poultry industry in Morocco. In 1979 he joined the Subdepartment of Avian Medicine at the University of Liverpool, UK. In 1980 he gained a Master degree in Veterinary Science (MVSc). In 1981 he returned to Morocco and established the Department of Avian Pathologyfghj at the Agronomy and Veterinary Institute. In joint academic research program between Morocco and UK, he obtained his PhD degree in 1986 under the supervision of RC Jones (university of Liverpool), this, allowed him to be promoted to Senior Lecturer, then to full Professor in 1990. He occupied the position of Head of Avian Pathology Department at the Agronomy and veterinary Institute until his retirement in 2016. During his career, in addition to his academic job, he founded in 1997 the Moroccan branch of WVPA (AMPA) and was its Chairman until he obtained in 2005 the organization of WVP Congress in Marrakech for 2009. Mohammed EL Houadfi, played a key role in poultry disease knowledge and extension services in Morocco and was member of several scientific committee of Ministry of Agriculture. He focussed his efforts on the control and diagnosis of new, emergent or re-emergent avian diseases that affect poultry producers by testing and evaluating vaccines and drugs efficacies. The most and relevant globally distinguish research were on viral diseases, particularly Infectious Bronchitis virus. Since 2015 he is member of Hall of Honour of the Word veterinary Poultry Association (WVPA). During his career he had several awards and praises.
